Jorge Villarreal
RVK Architects is inaugurating its new office space with the installation of Jorge Villarreal’s Untitled Walls and Berlin series. With Untitled Walls, Villarreal captures the multi-faceted essence of border walls along both sides of the US/Mexico border by using color and texture to transform these surfaces into visual narratives that reflect the human experiences embedded within them.
His Berlin series explores the architectural remnants of postwar Berlin, Germany. In his photographs, he isolates details of the buildings, whether it be graffiti, surface texture, or a specific architectural element. He composes a moment that has silently borne witness to history, allowing the architecture to make its own statement.
All works by Villarreal on view at RVK are available for acquisition.
